Level 10, The Flying Machine, before the first drop: three funnels at the top, gates, a catapult and a paint bucket on the walnut pegboard, four empty sockets, and the tray of marbles below

How it plays

A machine, a tray of marbles, one right drop after another.

  1. Read the machine

Every level is a machine: maple tracks on a walnut pegboard, with cups, gates, paint buckets, counting gears, lifts and catapults. Each socket at the bottom wants a colour.

Level 10, The Flying Machine, before the first drop: three funnels at the top, gates, a catapult and a paint bucket on the walnut pegboard, four empty sockets, and the tray of marbles below
  2. Drop the right marbles

Take a marble from the tray and drop it in a funnel. Gates send it left or right, paint changes its colour, the catapult flings it across. Undo is free; a hint comes in Leonardo's backwards handwriting.

  3. Power the invention

Fill every socket and the gear train locks together, the power climbs the chain, and the Flying Machine lifts off. Three stars for a perfect run: no misses, no help.

Machine complete! The Flying Machine is powered: three stars, a perfect run with no misses and no help
  4. Catalogue the Inventions

Every invention you power adds: a working model, Leonardo's plan with its mirror-written caption, and a short note on the real history.
