Marble Codex Privacy Policy

Effective date:

Marble Codex ("the game") is a marble-drop puzzle game set in Leonardo da Vinci's workshop. This policy explains what happens to your information when you play it. In short: the game shows ads from Google AdMob, and Google collects some information to show them (described below). The game itself keeps your progress and play log on your device, and they leave it only if you choose to send us a play log by email. We don't sell your information.

What the game keeps on your device

The game has no accounts, no analytics service and no crash reporting, so none of this is sent anywhere automatically. Uninstalling the game deletes it.

Sending us your play log (optional)

Options > Send log opens your email app with a report addressed to us. The report contains your phone's model, Android version and screen size, the game's version, your random install number, your best stars and the play log described above. Nothing is sent unless you choose to send the email from your email app, and you can read or edit it first. We use these reports only to improve the game's levels, and we delete them on request.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

The game shows ads from Google AdMob: a short video you can choose to watch for an undo or a hint, and now and then an ad between levels. To show ads, measure them and prevent fraud, Google's AdMob software in the game collects information from your device, including your device's advertising ID, your IP address (from which an approximate location can be worked out), information about your device and the app, and how you interact with the ads. This information goes to Google, not to us.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK, Switzerland or another region where the law requires it, the game shows Google's consent form before any ads, and Google shows personalised ads only if you agree. You can change your choice at any time in Options > Privacy choices. Anywhere, you can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalised ads in your phone's settings (Settings > Google > Ads, or Settings > Privacy > Ads). Ads in the game are limited to ones suitable for a general audience.

How Google uses this information: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.

In Québec and the rest of Canada: personalised ads

Google's consent form doesn't appear in Canada. So when your phone says it's in Canada (through its SIM, its mobile network, its time zone or its language setting), the game asks you once, the first time it starts: "Do you live in Québec?". Those signals and your answer stay on your device; the game keeps only your choice about ads.

You can change this at any time in Options > Personalized ads. Non-personalised ads are chosen from context, such as the game and an approximate location; Google still uses some information to limit how often they repeat, measure them and prevent fraud. You can also delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings (Settings > Google > Ads, or Settings > Privacy > Ads). Your choice changes nothing in the game: hints and undos work the same way.

Permissions

Children

The game is made for teens and adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your rights, and who is responsible

Who receives information: Google, for the ads described above, and our support mailbox, which Google hosts (Gmail), for the emails and play logs you send us. Google's servers may be outside Québec and Canada. Only the studio's owner reads what you send us, and we never sell or share it.

The person in charge of the protection of personal information at Data Driven Decisions is the studio's owner: write to support.datadrivendecisions@gmail.com with "Privacy" in the subject. You can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you, withdraw your consent, or get a copy of it; we answer within 30 days, free of charge. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (cai.gouv.qc.ca) or, elsewhere in Canada, to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca). How long we keep emails, and what applies to all our apps: Privacy at Data Driven Decisions.

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
